Dr. Rush has a special interest in Foot and Ankle Reconstruction, foot and ankle trauma, fracture care, sports injuries, cartilage repair techniques, arthroscopy, and ankle Joint replacement. Dr. Rush has been involved in ongoing clinical research and has contributed to several Foot and Ankle Surgical textbooks and has published 32 peer reviewed research articles. In 2009, Dr. Rush received international recognition for the first publication of stem cell bone grafting for lower extremity limb salvage. Dr Rush grew up playing sports which continued in college. Being an athlete and maintaining a fitness-oriented lifestyle Dr Rush understands and remains focused on sports injures and how to better treat his patients as new techniques and technologies emerge.

Dr. Rush saved my quality of life. I had a problem with the bone on my right foot that was causing blisters, it was so bad that under the care of another Dr., was told special shoes were needed to be worn the rest of my life. Went to Dr. Rush, he took some special X-Rays to get a better idea of what was going on. A long story short he shaved the bone in my foot and now I am back to wearing normal shoes. -Bob

DR. Rush and Dr. Payne have been truly exceptional in every way. I fell and fractured both legs. I required 2 surgeries on my right foot and ankle which presented at a 90deg position to my leg. Really bad! I am now 5 months after the incident and now walk. Dr. Rush performed an outstanding surgical repair that literally saved my leg. Stellar surgical skills. Great followup and really helpful and personable staff. I know a great doctor when I see one,having been in Emergency Medical Services for 30 years. I hope I never do this again,but if I do, I want Dr. Rush and his staff. Super docs! I will always be thankful to Dr's. Rush and Payne. I suffered from plantar fasciitis for a year! I tried EVERYTHING and nothing worked. My friend who’s a podiatrist told me about Dr Rush. She studied with him and he graduated top of his class. I made an appt and was in need of fascia release surgery. It’s so easy - done in office and I literally walked out. A week later I’m walking in a tennis shoe. 4 weeks later I was riding the peloton. It’s far easier and effective than I ever imagined. If you are suffering, this may be the answer for you. He would never recommend it unless you truly need it. Dr Rush is kind, caring, professional and the best at what he does. I verified this by talking to 4 other podiatrists before doing the fascia release. His nurse Lisa is amazing too. Dr. Rush is a highly skilled surgeon and podiatrist. 4 years ago I was faced with ankle fission or replacement surgery. My podiatrist referred me to Dr. Rush and after discussing my situation with him. I decided on ankle replacement surgery. Dr. Rush was extremely helpful post surgery too. I was blessed to have found Dr. Rush. Ive been in pain for 2 years because another Dr. Said I wouldn't be able to put my foot on the ground for 4 to 6 months. So I lived in pain. Then a blessing fell upon me with Dr. Rush. Very compassionate, caring, listens and explains everything you need to know. I'll be in a cast 4 to 6 weeks. The surgeon changed my life. I have really bad flat feet and the podiatrist gave me boots, inserts, and soft casts and told me there was nothing more they can do. I have ripped my tendons and tears around my ankles. The podiatrist told me to go to a specialist and if he had to pick one he would pick Dr. Rush. So I called, got an appt in 2 days, and had surgery the following Monday. And I am so happy with the results! Time for the left foot! I am so relieved that I will be able to play golf again. Dr Rush confirmed a diagnosis I had thought for the last two years but was struggling to have one of my primary doctors do anything about. 2 years later the extent of my injury has been fully revealed and I am on a path to proper healing. He was straight to the point, understood my frustration that lead me to his office and we came up with a plan of action to get me as close to back to normal as we we can. Dr. Rush is the only surgeon I trust with my ankle. He repaired my collateral ligament in 2018 and was the best when it came to patient care. My recovery was well and my ankle felt great till my clumsy little self managed to rupture my tendon not to mention we discovered a new bone cyst.
